Mt. Woodson Castle Wedding Photos with Tyler & Eileen

Modern wedding portrait by Julio Fonyat bride and groom at Mt Woodson Castle wedding in Ramona

Mt Woodson Castle is a popular wedding venue in Ramona. It’s one of my favorite places in San Diego to photograph weddings for many reasons. Like a few other wedding venues I spoke about, I feel like Mt. Woodson Castle offers everything you need for your dream San Diego outdoor wedding.

Mt. Woodson Castle is located in Ramona, County of San Diego. It is a historical venue built as a home in 1921 by famous San Diego dress designer Amy Strong.

They offer a customizable all-inclusive package. Mt Woodson uses exclusively Personal Touch Dining for the food needs. They’re one of my favorite San Diego catering companies. Mt. Woodson Castle features Craftsman-style architecture and plenty of outdoor spaces for the couples to explore and use for their dream day.

Mt. Woodson Castle has two getting-ready spots for couples. The bridal suite is a perfect getting-ready spot from the photography point of view, with great furniture and lighting coming in. Although a little far from San Diego, Mt. Woodson Castle weddings have plenty of parking available for guests that decide to drive. The bride and groom have the option of three separate ceremony sites at Mt. Woodson Castle, and my favorite one is the lower lawn underneath the large tree.

It was a gorgeous day in Ramona, and I was excited about Tyler and Eileen’s Mt Woodson Castle wedding. They started getting ready in their respective rooms at the venue. They had their closest friends and family members, and the overall vibe was very calm. As her friends got ready for the wedding, Eileen took the time to write Tyler a letter.

We set up the first look right in front of the castle. Tyler was emotional when he saw Eileen ready to get married. They talked for a little and exchanged and read letters they had written each other. The bridal party joined them after they finished with some photos. Eileen suggested that the bridal party went up to the balcony for some pictures, and I’m glad she did. I took the couple around for a few Mt. Woodson Castle wedding portraits. Then, we were ready for the ceremony.

Tyler and Eileen choose my favorite ceremony site at Mt. Woodson Castle: the lower lawn under the large tree. I feel like the best option is not only for the background but also for the filtered light behind the trees. They had a beautiful ceremony where they exchanged their vows and rings.

Once the ceremony was over, we were ready for some family photos and a few more brides and groom portraits. This time, we adventured outside the property in some empty, rustic fields next to Mt. Woodson Castle. Even though it's not the most friendly terrain, I always recommend that my Mt. Woodson Castle couples take advantage of this location. This is where I take some of my favorite Mt. Woodson Castle photos.

Tyler and Eileen made their way to the cocktail hour as the sun went down. They joined their friends and walked around being congratulated by their families and friends.

The reception was another great moment of this Mt. Woodson Castle wedding. The couple started with speeches and dinner outside, then moved inside the castle for the dances and cake cutting. I feel this is the best way to do Mt. Woodson Castle weddings because the guests are experiencing something new.

I was happy to be a part of Tyler and Eileen's Mt. Woodson Castle wedding, and I wish them a lifetime of happiness!
