Luce Loft Wedding Photographer for DJ & Ruth

Fun portrait bride and groom posing in front of graffiti wall with cigarettes and piranhas before Luce Loft wedding photography

Downtown San Diego can be difficult for wedding photography due to many aspects. But it’s always a smooth sail on Luce Loft weddings. This modern wedding venue in the heart of East Village in San Diego offers everything you need for the perfect urban wedding.

When it comes to wedding decoration, Luce Loft is a blank canvas. This San Diego downtown wedding venue offers concrete walls and flooring, a high ceiling, large industrial windows, and two different floors. The bride and groom are encouraged to bring their decor to personalize their urban wedding, and DJ and Ruth did that perfectly.

The wedding day started at the glorious US Grant Hotel in downtown San Diego. The bride and groom got ready in separate rooms of the hotel. Ruth and her friends were calmly getting-ready and talking about expectations for the wedding day. DJ and his friends were having a great time listening to music.

We headed to Balboa Park for the first look. DJ arrived earlier and was anxiously waiting for Ruth. When she arrived at the park, they were happy to see what the others had chosen for their Luce Loft wedding. We took a few photos around Balboa Park and drove to Pacific Beach for a few shots under the famous Crystal Pier, one of my favorite spots for photography in San Diego.

As we were ready to leave Pacific Beach, I spotted a cool graffiti wall with piranha-looking fish and bunny-like creatures carrying cigarettes. Dj and Ruth were up for some creative, modern wedding portraits, so we got out of the car and took a few great photos in front of the background.

It was time to head to the First United Methodist Church in San Diego for the wedding. I parked the car and rushed into position for the wedding procession. It was a beautiful wedding, and the couple showed lots of love and emotion. The guests were happy to witness this incredible Luce Loft wedding.

The First United Methodist Church San Diego is a gorgeous San Diego wedding venue. The large windows behind the altar show a beautiful green garden that serves as a unique background for weddings. It is one of my favorite churches for wedding photography in San Diego.

After the wedding ceremony, it was time for the Luce Loft reception, so we headed downtown San Diego. The bride and groom had their grand entrance and did their first dance as husband and wife in front of their loved ones. I even had time to escape with the couple for some portraits around Luce Loft. Once again, the couple showed they were always ready for a fun photo, so we got a few in front of the Korean catering truck.
