Karl Strauss Wedding Photographer for Carlos & Erica

Bride and groom at Balboa Park wedding photography session before head to Karl Strauss Brewery in Sorrento Valley for reception in San Diego

I knew it when I sat down with Carlos and Erica to discuss the details of their wedding. The sense of excitement I felt told me this was going to be epic. The chance to be their Karl Strauss wedding photographer is a real honor. The day started at the Marriot Courthouse, where the couple got ready. There was such a gentle, relaxed feel to Erica’s aura. It matched the laidback ambiance around her.

There was a definite overflow of love that day. One of Erica’s best friends, who had just given birth, couldn’t make it. But that didn’t keep the love from flowing. She was still part of the pictorial, as done through Facetime. That’s how genuine and strong the connections here are.

The Catholic ceremony happened at St. Joseph Cathedral. It was the perfect venue for such a beautiful event! Seeing Carlos and Erica taking their vows in front of the altar was something else. You can feel the spirit of the moment overwhelming everybody with a wave of emotions. It was a memorable, spine-tingling, heartwarming moment.

After the ceremony, we took some post-ceremony photos at Balboa Park. Despite the heat, there were no complaints from the couple. Nothing was going to stop them from taking amazing shots. The majestic tree that served as their backdrop was perfect. Their photos made me remember why this was one of my favorite spots in San Diego as a Karl Strauss wedding photographer.

We continued shooting photos when we got to the venue. As we walked around the property I got to know them even better. We chatted. We laughed, and we took more pictures. All this made me realize how perfect they are for each other.

After their grand entrance, everyone enjoyed the sumptuous dinner prepared for them. There were emotional speeches, some of them leaving us in tears.

Then, it was time to bust a few moves on the dance floor. Carlos and Erica’s friends let loose and showed us what “fun” really meant. The photo booth I set up was also a huge success!

Needless to say, my stint as a Karl Strauss wedding photographer was one for the books. Carlos and Erica allowed me to feel and witness a whole lot of love.
