San Diego Wedding Photography

Welcome, and congratulations on your upcoming wedding! My name is Julio Fonyat, and I have been a San Diego wedding photographer for nearly two decades. Based in San Diego and available for destination weddings worldwide, I specialize in natural, timeless wedding photography that tells the full story of your day — the big moments, the quiet ones, and everything in between.

As a San Diego wedding photographer, my approach blends photojournalism with natural portraiture. I document what is real without interrupting it, so your photos feel genuine and emotional rather than posed or stiff. From intimate elopements to large celebrations, I work closely with every couple to make sure the experience feels easy, personal, and completely tailored to you.

Over nearly two decades as a San Diego wedding photographer, I have had the privilege of shooting at some of the most beautiful venues in the region. From beachfront ceremonies in La Jolla and Carlsbad to elegant estate weddings in Rancho Santa Fe and rustic celebrations in Temecula wine country, San Diego offers an incredible variety of backdrops for wedding photography.

Some of my most frequently photographed San Diego wedding venues include Cuvier Park in La Jolla, Martin Johnson House, Leo Carrillo Ranch in Carlsbad, Cape Rey Resort, Darlington House, The Skybox, and Jeune Perché. Each venue brings its own character, and I take the time to scout every location in advance so I know exactly where the best light falls and where the most memorable images can be made.

Whether you are planning a wedding in San Diego, La Jolla, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Temecula, or a destination abroad, I would love to be your photographer. I also offer engagement sessions and family photography throughout San Diego County.

What Couples Are Saying About Their San Diego Wedding Photographer

"From the initial meeting, Julio was extremely professional and easy to get along with. On our wedding day, he went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. I didn't even notice him during the ceremony or reception — they were not intrusive at all, yet got so many incredible shots. We could not be happier with his work."

"He took the time to scout the area ahead of time and come up with beautiful locations. The day of our wedding, Julio and his wife came on time and dressed professionally. They didn't get in the way and captured amazing photos all night. Everyone was so impressed by the way our photos turned out. Julio truly has an eye for finding the best places to create beautiful photos."
