I am Julio Fonyat, a La Jolla wedding and engagement photographer originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where I grew up surrounded by photography, architecture, and art. At 15, my mother gave me my father's cameras, and that was the moment everything changed. I moved to San Diego in 2002 and have been photographing weddings and engagement sessions throughout La Jolla ever since.
La Jolla holds a special place in my work. The combination of dramatic ocean cliffs, world class venues, and incredible natural light makes it one of the most rewarding places I photograph. I will work with you to find a spot that feels personal and meaningful to you as a couple.

La Jolla is one of the most popular wedding destinations in San Diego, so I recommend booking as early as possible — ideally 12 to 18 months before your wedding date. That said, if your date is coming up sooner, reach out anyway as I occasionally have openings for shorter notice bookings.
